Just seven miles long, this walk crosses the island from the coastal path at Hamstead Cliff in the north to Brook Bay in the south where at low tide you can see the pine raft, the remains of a fossilised forest. You’ll cross salt marshes – a haven for birdlife – on a series of boardwalks, walk through woodlands and open countryside and climb up on to the downs, following a stretch of the Island’s most famous footpath, the Tennyson Trail.
