Book your next crossing on Wightlink’s App. Technology transforms ferry travel

Wightlink has launched a smartphone App to make ferry travel easier.

Customers with iPhones and Android devices can download the App, add their details and start using it to book crossings within minutes.

The Wightlink App can be used to make bookings, amend bookings, look at timetables, check the service status of all routes and find out the time of the next departure. Customers can also use their season tickets, Multilink or Business Passes and manage their Wightlink accounts on the App. A real-time map shows the location of each ferry and users can sign up for travel alerts for each route, or all routes.

“I am delighted we can now offer customers a fast and efficient way of booking with Wightlink,” says Chief Executive Keith Greenfield. “I have been using the trial version myself and find it is very useful and convenient. This is part of our continuing focus on improving the customer experience for everyone who travels with us.”

The App was produced by Wightlink’s own team of technology specialists following consultation with customers on the best features to include in the App.

Marketing and Innovation Director Stuart James adds: “This App provides customers with another way to access our full range of services and make bookings more easily. People with season tickets, Multilink and Business Passes will be able to manage their accounts with their smartphone.”

Frequent traveller Sarah Burridge from Binstead was among a group of Wightlink customers who also trialled the new App. She comments: “It’s simple to download and easy to use. The App has everything you need to make all kinds of bookings and keep on track with Wightlink’s sailings. I especially like the feature where you can see how many Multilink tickets you have left on your account.”

Download the app from the Google Play Store here and from the Apple App Store here.
